Bubblies and Hope

Half Moon Bay Weyr - Samiryth's Weyr
The weyr is of a typical sort. It's been hewn out of the rock of the cliffs like so many others that dot the landscape. The ledge is big enough for a pair of dragons to rest and bask in the sunlight, or socialize with the many others that live nearby. Upon entering the weyr you see a living space that is splashed in colors. On the walls are hung various colorful strips of fabric to hide the drab and dull rock behind. The weyr is mostly encompassed in one room. The living space is closest to the front of the weyr. It consists of a comfortable couch and a large coffee table. The couch has many pillows that are squishy and comfortable. The table is mostly bare except for a few glasses and various swaths of fabric. Off to one side of the living space is the kitchen, with a stove and counterspace with pots and pans, plates and other kitchen type items. There is a small table that could fit two or there people there. Beyond the living room at the far end of the space on a raised daius is the bed. It's a queen sized bed with a soft quilt covering it. The only room separate from the common space is the bathroom. In there is a sink, toilet and a carved tub.

Evening in Half Moon Weyr, and Garouth appears in the skies with dark-shaded wings to match the growing shadows. There's a brush of his thoughts to Samiryth, those shadows stealing softly across her own wings in a breath of cool air. « Hello, Samiryth. » He's headed for the bowl, at least at first, where D'lei will swing off to bustle into the caverns… and while he does, Garouth can take the time to make a leisurely (and polite) contact to Samiryth rather than just showing up on her doorstep. Even if, well, there's not much other reason for them to be at Half Moon, now is there?

Samiryth is instantly aware when Garouth is near. She might mingle with the other dragons of the weyr in that great ocean of dragon thought, but she does pay special attention to that mindspot that is Garouth. Samiryth can't help but shiver a little as his cool thoughts brush over her wings. It may be cool but it does warm he heart, « Garouth. » she says warmly reaching out to him with velvet and soft cotton, « Do you have time to visit me? » She won't presume that he does, but she can hope! If there was another reason she isn't aware of it in the slightest.

Just because Samiryth was aware the minute (second) he arrived, that doesn't mean Garouth isn't still going to follow the formalities! For some dragons, he might omit them; for some, he might even try to sneak up on them, the better to amuse them when he pounces their tails. For Samiryth, though? That greeting, soft like the autumn breeze that ripples those fabrics, gently toying with them as his shadows steal closer. « I do, » he answers, with a swirl of leaves that flicker to silk - and back to leaves - as they spin. « We can be up in just another moment. » Just as soon as D'lei comes back out of the caverns, a small bag in his hand, and swings back up onto his back so the bronze can beat wings to once more ascend… and this time, head for Samiryth's ledge.

Sami is a proper lady, and so does appreciate the formalities. Though if he were to pounce her tail she would probably not complain. The green will excitedly tell her rider that Garouth is coming, and that oh yes D'lei is coming too. But that is a completely secondary thought. Sami will send a refracted rainbow light toward Garouth when he toys with the fabric, clearly enjoying his mind with hers. « We will be expecting you. » Serena had not been doing anything in particular but sitting on her couch and reading so she is perfectly ready to accept visitors.

Garouth! Now with bonus D'lei, free with every visit. Okay, not every visit, but at least sometimes. This time, anyhow! He rises to the ledge with a few strong beats of wings, landing on it with a light touch to bring his own presence even as those leaves swirl again, this time becoming almost translucent against the rainbows, letting it shine through them and show how they can be all the colors, from the greens of spring and summer to the red and yellow of autumn before sweeping away into shadows once more. The bronze settles, and D'lei swings off again, taking that bag with him as he steps inside to see… aha, there's a Serena! He grins, and lifts his free hand. "Hey there."

Garouth is looking much better than the last time that she saw him. That warms her heart even more. He has that spark in him again that she always liked about him. « You are looking very well Garouth. I'm so happy that you are here. » She will keep the warm rainbow wave illuminating that forest of him, « When you come it brightens up my day. » Serena doesn't get up frmo the couch since she found a comfortable spot and when you find one of those you stick to it but she will motion D'lei over with a smile, "Hi D'lei. I'm so happy you are here." Much like for the green D'lei being a part of her life makes a difference and a positive one at that, "Is everything ok?" she asks. It does seem that most times they talk there is some sort of crisis on one end or the other.

« I am glad, » Garouth replies to Samiryth. The rainbows trace through his forest, waves of shine that bring the shadows to brightness as if they - for a moment - sparkle through to some different place where the skies are brighter and every raindrop refracts like a jewel… or maybe it's just a different view and perspective on those same dark woods. « Though I would think your day bright enough from your own doing. » The shadows linger in a pool, deliberate darkness to make a constrast in shade to the rainbows. D'lei? Yeah, he has no issue with making his own way over. Comfy seats are hard to find! He grins to Serena, and the question makes him pause for a moment - not so much surprised by it as just doing a mental stock-taking. Of all the things going on in his world, just where is he today? It takes thinking about, but… the smile returns. "Yeah. Things are doing okay." He comes the rest of the way to join her on the couch, and extends the bag. "I hear these are the best bubblies on Pern." They certainly do smell fruity, now that he's near! "Thought we could give them a try."

Samiryth just feels warm inside and out. She has felt different than usual and she can't pinpoint the reason or it. It's sort of a warm squishy feeling that never quite leaves her and is magnified by this bronze when he is near. She will linger in the light of the raindrops. His mind is beautiful. Not always dark but warm and comfortble. At least for her. The green will move closer to him on the ledge, « May I touch you? » she'll ask gently. She's going to do her darndest to respect him and his wishes. Serena will shift when he brings out the bubblies, "I'm starving." she says with vigour. He'd probably notice a little more baby bump growth since the last time he saw her. She's actually starting to look properly pregnant now, "It's so thoughtful of you."

Garouth settles on the ledge, one forepaw tucked under him as he makes a neater shape than many a bronze could manage. « You may, » he answers her, with a gentle haze of raindrops swirled to the flutter of rose-petals, an agreement of contact - of gentle touch - as he rests there. He's easier in mind as well as body, it seems, and it's with a rumble of amusement that he adds, « It is your ledge, after all. I would not remain if I did not wish to visit you. » He could have dropped D'lei and run! But… he didn't. D'lei grins wider at Serena's reaction. "Well, good! And fruit's supposed to be healthy, right?" Okay, yes, being simmered in sugar and wrapped in pastry misses some of the point, but there's still fruit in there. He offers her first choice of the bubblies - still nicely warm - and then he'll take one for himself.

Samiryth will move forward gingerly and move to nuzzle against his neck. This is what she has been waiting for. It seems like turns but it really hasn't been that long. Though if you are in love any time away from your beloved seems like eternity. Sami will gather those rose petals in a nicely painted bowl and place them there in the forest. « You are welcome to stay on my ledge anytime you like. You are always welcome and wanted. I know you can always speak to me but it isn't the same as you being here. » His rumble is met with a soft coo from the green. Fruits and sugars are necessary for a growing body, all in a good balance. Normally Serena did watch her figure but now it's different. She will reach out and take one of the bubblies and smile, "If you keep treating me like this I'm going to get bigger faster. If that is even possible."

Garouth shifts as Samiryth nuzzles him, with a soft rumble in his chest and a slow arch of that neck, leaning to that touch. The shadows shifts in his forest, the dapple of light that echoes those petals neatly gathered. « It is not, » he agrees. His eyes drift almost closed, then open again to regard the bowl before him instead of just the painted one within his mind. « There is a something to being there. » A laugh, as the wind stirs the trees more, their branches swaying. « No wonder the little one is impatient to travel. » D'lei laughs to Serena. "Is that a good thing, or not? I mean, it might mean it all goes faster… right?" So what if biology doesn't actually work that way! Minor details, and then he bites down on that bubbly. Nom.

Samiryth can hardly believe that this is being allowed. He'd always been kind, even a bit passionate in his mind but pulled away from her, and now he's not. In fact it's almost the opposite. The green will not complain. She will wrap some of those trees in color fabrics creating a canopy of sorts where the sunlight shines throught he multicolored fabrics producing interesting dapples of on the floor of the forest. She'll continue to nuzzle gently, « Garouth you know I love you. You don't have to say it back to me. I know you are still working things out in your mind. » If the conversation they had awhile ago is still rolling around in his mind, « I just need you to know that is all. » For now that is something she will be content with. And inside the weyr D'lei is walking into a trap of his own making, "You will still want to be seen with me when I'm big and fat right?" Not that she's worried exactly. How she looks does matter but its never been her primary motivator. She'll take a bite of the bubbly and savor it for a moment. "I don't think it would make the baby come faster. It might get me bigger faster though."

The winds tug at those canopies, not trying to tear them away but only making them ripple, the moving shadows they cast made colorful by their hues as the light passes through them into the forest. There's hints of shapes more complicated than any mere sunlight-patch… or perhaps not; what is a creature moving through the forest, and what is a trick of the eye observing? It's hard to tell, in the constant motion that the winds among the treetops make, yet the patterns are beautiful and interesting even so. Garouth half closes his eyes again, listening to Samiryth. The winds still, for a moment… then gust again, tossing up dried leaves to dance through the dappled and multi-hued sunlight before continuing on to trace Samiryth softly, a touch for her mind even as she does his neck. « I know. » It's gentle, even if there's a trace of the distance remaining… but there's still a level of ease that wasn't there before… along with a curiosity. « Will you tell me what love is? » D'lei is heedless of any traps, because bubbly. And while he can't say that this is categorically the best on Pern, on account of not having tasted them all (yet), it certainly does taste good! Mmh. Om nom… hmm? He tilts his head to Serena, and grins. "You mean, when everyone'll want to fuss over you? I should be the one worried, you'll find yourself an entourage and there'll be no room for me to come along."

Happy Samiryth is happy. That is exactly what he wanted to hear. She couldn't even begin to deny that she is loving this. The bronze is here. He understands, and seems to be at ease. She is a sucker for patterns and will watch intently as they shift and dance. Her mind shares her joy by several flashes of light illuminating the forest like flash bulbs on a runway fashion show. His question is a whopper, though Sami isn't taken aback. She'll do her best, « Love is like a fire that burns inside of you but doesn't take anything away it only adds. It makes you want to see that person happy every waking second of your life. Makes you want to be near them and close to them. » At least thats been the greens experience so far. Serena continues to chew, probably too loudly, she isn't trying to have manners right now. "I don't think that will happen." Some fussing may occur but not on that level, "Besides I'd want you there. It wouldn't be right if you weren't." Course much like Sami Serena is aware that D'lei has another life out there somewhere. A life she has never seen but only heard about, and she wants to try to respect that while still meeting her own needs.

That one's a bit like silk damask, and that one… well. It might make a daring sort of block print… properly designed, of course, for as it is they're the transient inspirations of nature and its interaction, the patterns of… well, light and shadow and motion, nature and creation in their meandering forms. Garouth listens to Samiryth's answer, the patterns shifting to the flickering of flames, the red and orange of leaves accentuated to echo her words. « What if it does burn? If there is something… taken away, even though it is like a fire that wakes inside when they are near? » His words are quiet, with curiosity on their surface but… the hint of other emotions beneath. D'lei grins. "We shall see." We, see? He'll totally be there. And, yeah, he's quite aware that Serena is probably right, but that won't stop him from trying! "I suppose I do get to elbow my way into the crowd, though…" Not that there's likely to actually be one, but his smile shifts to one warmer and less playful for the conclusion. "It's my baby too."

Samiryth loves block prints. Simple geometric shapes will always be in fashion. She'll form the mental image of a black cape with white squares blocked inside it that she'll place over Garouth's back as she watches the patterns of nature that he seems to create easily. Yet another reason to love him. They could create together, making things that are more beautiful than they could make apart. « Complicated love. » Sami says as a statement before going on more tentatively, « Sometimes we don't love each other equally. You can love someone more than they love you. » she says wistfully knowing full well she's talking about herself. « It can be painful, but its worth the pain to come to special moments. » For her this would qualify. Serena finishes off the first bubbly and brushes the crumbs off of herself, "Thats right. We are in this together equally."

The wind seems to constantly tease that cape set over Garouth, making it ripple in the breeze and the shapes dapple with that motion. Like some kind of superhero cape, animated to wave suitably heroically as he poses… or settles restfully, as the case may be. He listens to Samiryth again, and some of those shadows twist, drawing together in darkness around the edges of the dappled lights cast through the canopy of fabric and trees. « I do not know if it is always worth the pain. » A shadow-creature limps, struggling before it falls to its knees and twists apart to darkness and dead leaves once more. « Love… should not stand against love. » A rumble, low and deep, and that's enough to make D'lei glance toward his dragon before returning his attention to Serena again. "Yeah, but equal or not… you leave the furniture moving part to me, okay? You've already got something to carry around, and it's not like you can put it down for a rest."

Sami has an inkling of what this might be about. There is only one logical candidate for this. She gets to her feet and then does a little twist so she can lay down beside him and lean against him. She wants him to feel the closeness because this is indeed a charged topic. The death of the shadow creature does catch her attention and underlies the seriousness of this. Talking about the /other green/ wouldn't help most likely but she can try another tack, « Garouth if I was proddy right now. » oh boy if she was proddy right now, that would be terrifying, « You would chase me yes? » This is an answer she already knows but it's important to think this through. Serena chuckles and looks around, "I pretty much have things where I want them at this point. Though if that changes I will let you know. You can be father and furniture mover."

Garouth lifts his head and opens his eyes just a bit, watching Samiryth as she moves. His wing shifts slightly as she rests against him, a flutter that sends a breeze of the physical sort as well as the mental kind as she settles… and proposes a hypothetical. Which Garouth considers, even if it's already known, making sure of his intentions, of his desires, before he answers. « Yes. » He would chase. He wouldn't have to think about it, if she actually were… but she's not, so he had that moment to ponder. D'lei grins, and nods. "If you do." He finishes his bubbly, for now! Before that nesting instinct strikes and things suddenly need to be in different places because… well, because! He's heard the stories. He knows how this could maybe possibly go! (Even if he kind of has no idea how it actually will.)

Yes. Completely hypothetical. The green doesn't even bother asking him if he'd want to win because she knows that answer too. She'll shift in her spot to get comfy just nuzzling close to the bronze as she continues, « Lets say a blue caught me. » She'll let that image hang in his mind for a moment, not that she has anything against blues. « Would that change my feelings of love for you? » She can answer for herself but this is a think-it-through sort of thing for Garouth. Serena does a once over of he weyr and supposes that some things will have to change like a cradle will be needed and other baby related things, "I'm going to need some stuff. Like baby clothes and diapers and a baby bed and everything…" And how will she get it all up here? Sami will have to help or Garouth or some other dragon.

Garouth shifts a paw, adjusting it to accomodate Samiryth's cuddle in against him and giving another slight flicker of his wing as he moves. « They can be swift in the air. Easier to turn. » Because hey, he may be a bronze himself, but he can certainly value a blue for what they have to offer… in the abstract. And when it comes to what they might offer Samiryth? « No. But you might love him as well, if he were kind and pleasing to you. » Garouth remains a constant! But clouds shift, showing hints of a blue sky beyond… even if the sun-touched shadows retain their own beauty. The bronze doesn't seem upset by these hypotheticals, only… considering them. D'lei nods to the not-so-hypothetical needs Serena mentions. "Make a list?" he suggests. "I mean, there's going to be a lot of it, but we don't need any of it right now." A grin, and he reaches to brush fingers to her belly softly. "Baby's got time yet. So… make a list, and once you've picked the right ones, I'll move the furniture." Because that's his job! Well, him and Garouth.

Samiryth is going to have to remember that hypothetical questions to Garouth lead to rabbit holes she doesn't want to think about herself and doens't want /him/ to think about as well. « No Garouth. I'm only interested in you. Just you. I don't want another dragon to catch me ever. » Can she make that happen? Given her long interval between cycles its not impossible, stranger things have happened, « So focus for a second. You said I wouldn't stop loving you. So think it through and apply it to your own situation. » Samiryth will, with the speed of a thought, cover the sky and remove any reference to blue. The sky is prettier pink anyway. Serena won't resist the touch to her belly. It's become fairly normal to have D'lei touch there, and Serena enjoys it. It's the feeling of closeness between the father and the baby that she already experiences, not to mention it just feels good period. "I will make that list. We don't have to get everything all at once." Then Garouth can move it!

Hypothetical questions are dangerous things when they get real answers! It's like going on a hunt for rabbits and accidentally running into a bear. Which, yes, good to know there's bear in those woods, but not exactly the bunny rabbit that was expected. Garouth rumbles softly, stretching his neck. « You might, » he insists, though without any particular fervor. This is all hypothetical! At least… in theory. « Even if you would not, another dragon might. » That fire sparked in hearts and minds by… various means. Garouth's clouds shift in more gradually to cover the sky that Samiryth's adorned with pink (instead of that pesky blue), and he listens… followed with a low rumble of thunder in the distance. « You mean that flights change nothing. That feelings are - afterward - the same as they were before. » D'lei nods to Serena, the touch to her belly a light one, brief (though still meaningful). "Yeah. I can ask Krysa, too. She's going to have her baby any day now, I think, and it's her second so… she and E'vyl are bound to have some clue about it, right?"

Males can be so male sometimes. Leading him through hypotheticals by the nose is proving difficult. She'll take the opportunity to nose at his shoulder, « Garouth I'm trying to tell you that just because Kith was won by another, even twice doesn't mean she doesn't love you. » Sure she could have just come out and said it that way the first time but she did want him to think about it. And more on the downside it doesn't mean he doesn't love her. Though that wouldn't be a downside for Garouth, « Flight do change things. But it doesn't mean they always do. I don't want you to worry. » Course he will anyway but still there it is. Serena considers D'lei's words and agrees with a nod, "If it's their second one then I'd hope so. If I was on my second I'd hope to know something more than I do now." Soooo premature to be worrying about a second. The moment is sufficient, "At least they will know what stuff to get."

Sometimes you just need to be blunt. Like a ton of bricks or a herdbeast-kick to the head. Garouth shifts his wings for that nose to his shoulder, and turns his head a bit to regard Samiryth… and rumbles, a ripple through the tops of the trees that sends some leaves falling downward. « Nor do I wish to worry. » He leans in, with a soft nudge of his muzzle to her neck. « I will watch actions… not flights. » That grand affair that is the rest of the time instead of a brief dance through the air! Though… there's another stir of the air as he adds, « Though I will still chase. » Just because it doesn't reveal the true nature of emotions doesn't mean he doesn't still want to chase and win! He has his urges… though for now, he seems content and comfortable to lie here with Samiryth as D'lei sits inside with Serena. He nods to her. "Yeah, exactly." A grin. "And Ravy's a nice kid, so they're clearly doing something right."

Samiryth accepts the nudge with a soft sigh. It's just nice. Warm and squishy. Garouth is so warm and handsome and so many other things. His thoughts do make sense. Garouth is a smart dragon. She will lean to her side and then unfurl he wing to rest over him. Not really completely over him since he is so much larger than she but still, « I know you will Garouth and I want you too. » She knows he has urges. So does she, though different than he does probably. Despite her realism about this there is some insecurity, « You don't find them more pretty than me? » Now its Garouth's turn for a trap. Serena has never met these people so its hard to picture but she'll trust D'lei's words, "We're going to have to be good parents too." That is a huge thought, "So many things to do and learn."

Garouth leans into that wing, draped… if not entirely over him… at least against him, a warm span of contact. He half closes his eyes, with a low rumble… then opens them again to regard Samiryth. Who's the prettiest? …the leaves swirl, a momentary veil that shifts to reveal a clearing circled by varied creatures. A deer, graceful and wild. A dancer, costumed in crystal antlers and form-fitting silk. A beam of sunlight, motes floating in its glow. An emerald, nestled on pale crumpled silk. A flower, soft pink petals and a sweet scent. « Which is prettier? » he asks, as the wind shifts from one to the next of these. It's his turn to attempt leading questions, too! D'lei nods to Serena. Someday, perhaps he'll make the introductions! Just… not now. "Heh," he says, and nods. "Yeah. Kind of… it feels like there's a lot of time yet?" A glance to her belly. "But there's a lot to learn, too." His eyes rise to hers again, and he smiles. "We'll figure it out, though. I mean, I know my parents sure weren't expecting me, and…" He grins. "I still turned out okay, right?" It can be done!

Samiryth will regard even of these varying creatures with the eye of an artist. Some things are inherantly prettier than other things. There is a wide gradation of pretty with different words to describe it all. She isn't so easily lead, just as Garouth wasn't. She will turn away from all of them. « Garouth I know what you are trying to do. » He wants to say everyone is pretty and treat everyone kindly. Which is admirable. But Sami want's to be special. Special! It's what her cutie mark is telling her. Since bluntness is ruling the day, « You'll find someone prettier that you desire more and forget about me. » Serena's eyes go wide. There was something she forgot to do. In all the commotion of everything she didn't tell her parents, "D'lei! I didn't tell my parents yet. Ohhhhhhhhhh…" How will the parents take this? Sure they knew she was a rider and all but the specifics might escape them, "Do your parents know?"

So many varied possibilities, but even so they can be compared against each other. When they're all dragons, well… of course they can be compared to each other. The images remain, a part of Garouth's forest - at least for the moment - but the winds drift on, brushing to Samiryth. « There are many kinds of pretty. » He reiterates it, even if she does seem to have gotten the point. Might as well outright state it! « I cannot say I will love only you. » While they're being blunt and all. « The moon desired to be my only love… and she could not have it. » He chased Sami! « Nor can you. » He regards her, with eyes as well as mind the green-yellow of spring leaves. « Neither will I forget you. I will not hide my loves from you; but you can know me, and be a part of who I am. » The bronze's attention remains steady, and D'lei… "Ahhh. Kinda?" A half-smile. "I kinda… mentioned it in a letter. But I haven't gone to visit and tell them in person yet." Which he should, he knows he should, but… hasn't. He's been busy! That's his excuse and… yeah it's kind of not entirely good enough, is it? Still. Back to Serena! "Where are your parents? Near here?"

Samiryth had accepted he would chase other females. But chasing is one thing and loving is another. Insecurity is a funny thing. The only question before her is does she freak out or does she find a workaround. What happens if you are stitching a dress and something goes wrong? Do you throw the whole thing out and start fresh or do you work with it and massage it a little bit to make it work again? Thats the direction she chooses to go with it. Focusing on the positive is her direction, « Garouth I am a part of your life. I'm not going anywhere. » Besides there are things she can do to make the others pale in comparison. Feminine power! Serena takes in deep breaths, "No. They live up at Sykan Hold up by the emerald isle." It's in easy travel distance really, "How do I tell them I'm pregnant though? I mean they aren't riders. What are they going to think?"

« Good. » Garouth rumbles to Samiryth, a wind that carries with it the warmth of sunlight, the shimmer of rich earth and the many shapes of life in his forest. « It makes me stronger… better… to have you. » Here in his life! A part of it, as his tail shifts and curls around her lightly even as her wing spreads over him. D'lei nods to Serena, then… hmms. "I mean…" A glance to their dragons, and then a half smile. "Even holders end up pregnant sometimes." A glance back to her, though then the smile ebbs. "I can go with you, if you want. If you think that'd make them feel better about it." Or would make her feel better about it!

Samiryth looks at that tail of his as it curls around her and chances to lean over and run her muzzle against it for a moment before laying her cheek against his shoulder once more. From deep within her mind comes a gentle thrumming. Like the sound a sewing machine makes as it stitches. A humm, a vibration, a gentle rhythm that pulses outward toward those trees, skies and woodland creatures. It seems to embed itself in every corner of his being. « Mmmmmmm. » she almost wordlessly coos to him. Serena knows that. Always a few girls end up pregnant when they aren't supposed too. They are naughty! She doesn't want to be looked at that way though. She will perk up on the couch when he says that, "Yeah. I mean they'd see you were a good guy and were going to take care of me and the baby." Is it possible to not like D'lei. He's just such a nice guy, "We'd just explain that Sami rose and you caught her and that you are an up and coming bronze and make you look at as good as possible."

"Yeah," D'lei agrees. "We'll just leave out things like the fight…" A glare (only semi-serious) to Garouth, who is ignoring him entirely in order to cuddle with Samiryth, his own rumble a deeper one beneath her hum of steady stitching and fabulous productions. There's no more words from him, for… at the moment, he needs none! He will simply rest, content, as D'lei looks back to Serena again. "I mean, everyone knows dragons rise." Even if Samiryth hadn't, up until that occasion. And even if knowing in the abstract and coming to terms with it in the specific can be very different things! "Besides… maybe they'll just be happy to have a grandchild coming?" He can hope, anyhow!

"They've met Samiryth obviously. Maybe they will be happy for her?" Serena can't see what Sami is doing out there but she knows that she's a happy girl so she won't interrupt. At least someone is getting most of what they want. The green too will remain wordless for awhile as well. Just trying to move deeper and deepr into his mind. He offered! He wants her to be a part of everything so she'll take him up on that. "Probably will." Serena says hopefully, there might be a bit of reluctance in her voice, "My dad always said that if any boy tried anything he'd disappear and that our family would have free fishbait for a few months. You'll either be a hit or fishbait." Not alot inbetween there.

So many twisty and winding paths! And along one of them - which does twist to reveal itself to Samiryth's wanders - she'll find a place where the branches are strung with festival lights, making splashes of brightness that deepen the shadows around them. There's a sense of presence here, or… perhaps absence? Someone else has set up those celebratory lanterns and trampled the grass with feet… and Garouth welcomed it. He's left things in place, ready for the party to return… even if there will surely be new decorations next time, the better to make things all the more awesome. And Garouth shows this to Samiryth, though there is a hint of uncertainty beneath, wondering at her reaction to not merely being told but… seeing for herself. D'lei nods to Serena. "And I mean, it is going to be her kid, too. Like, Ravy, I was telling you about her? Haeyaneth - Krysa's dragon - is practically her second mother. She'll just lie curled around her and keep her happy and safe for hours." He has watched this! And he has no reason to believe Samiryth won't be the same, though… ehhhh, fishbait. Just what D'lei doesn't want to be! His grin is crooked and maybe a little squirmy. "Let's hope for a hit. I'd feel bad for the fish."

Samiryth can appreciate the festival lights and it is clear that whoever did had good taste. This is not Garouth's doing though. She is sure of that. His trepidation or uncertainty isn't met with any negative waves of emotion from the green. More of curiosity, « What is this Garouth? » she asks as she explores the festival grounds. « What does it mean? » It's nice but many things are nice. The meaning is what is important. Serena hadn't thought before of using a dragon for child care, "I guess thats probably true. She helped bring the baby into the world so she best help out once they are here." She'll lean her head to the side and call out to Garouth, "You too mister." Then she will look back to D'lei, "I don't think you'll end up as bait. You are a good man D'lei. My family will like you."

« Leirith's party. » the bronze answers Samiryth, with a certain measure of relief at the fact she doesn't seem upset by it… at least so far. He projects an image of the young gold's more physical form, showing her amidst that sense of her in absence. « She is one of the small ones at Xanadu. » And, softer. « I care for her, though I do not know what will come. » She's still a baby! …okay, child. Borderline on adolescent. And Garouth is (just barely an) adult. Such a vast difference, that entire turn of experience that he has and she doesn't… yet. D'lei nods his agreement to Serena, with a grin as he too glances to the dragons. "Sure doesn't," he agrees. "They get to be responsible too!" Just like he is… and was, even before the threat of becoming fishbait. But hey, if his motivation ever falters… now he has extra! Though he nods about her family liking him. "I hope so."

Samiryth might be insecure over other adult greens and golds but a child? That would stretch incredulity. Sami will look over the projection of Leirith and give her head a gentle curl to the side, « She has good taste in decorations. » A compliment for the young gold. The green doesn't object to the space but stands there in it with a tinge of purple in her eyes, « Come over here and dance with me. » Thank you Leirith for the pretty space! There can be no motivation faltering when the prospect of being fishbait is held over your head, "Have you heard back from your parents?" He did say that he'd sent them a letter.

« When she is older, I will bring her here. » Garouth's mind is clearly eased by Samiryth's reaction, her lack of jealousy over his affections… at least in this case. « You can meet. » But for now? Garouth steps forward into the space of party, his shape shifting to that of a tall gentleman, dark in appearance and with a sweeping cape of shadow around his shoulders. He bows, a slow formal bend, and extends his hand to Samiryth as his tail flickers behind to draw forth music like a conductor to his orchestra. « Let us dance. » D'lei leans back against the couch, and hehs. "Yeah. I need to go visit. And maybe figure out when I could bring them here… I mean, not here here, but somewhere near here so they can meet you. I've just… right now, between Xanadu and Monaco, I barely know what I'm going to be supposed to do tomorrow." Maybe it'll ease up soon! Maybe. Surely before the baby comes, at least… right?

« I would like to meet her. » Sami agrees. If this gold is going to be part of his life in a meaningful way than she feels she should meet her. She has to make sure that Garouth is protected. Even from himself. Samiryth will transform herself into the image of a young woman with a fancy ball gown. She'll move across the grass to Garouth and bow to him. Then she'll let him whisk her away to pleasantly dance the evening away. Serena nods and knows that there must be priorities, "You'll settle down soon." Everything will be OK. At least one can hope. "For now we'll just sit and eat the bubblies." And that is what they will do! Bubbly time!

Himself may be one of Garouth's worst enemies, sometimes! But… it's also one of his greatest allies. It all depends on the situation! This situation? Well, it's for dancing. The music plays, mostly strings and horns but with the woodwinds adding their own notes to the mix, and Garouth and Samiryth dance between the trees in the light and shadows of those lanterns. Between that and the bubblies D'lei and Serena eat, they've got all the party essentials! "…yeah," D'lei agrees. Or hopes. "I've got a meeting with the weyrlingmaster scheduled tomorrow, so… maybe I'll get good news then." A shrug, and for now… he distracts himself with bubblies! Until he's got to head out for the next piece of his busy schedule, anyhow, but still. There's time for bubblies and hope!
