Re-Light My Fire

A small fire in the gardens is nothing unusual - after all its one of the best ways of disposing of large piles of weeds, and the ash is good for the soil. Unfortunately its the wrong time of the year for such things, and after the kitchen fire (+bbread 1/4) its perhaps little wonder that the smoke drew fairly swift attention.

To the horror of the gardeners, and many who were unfortunate enough to be in the immediate vicinity, one of the compost heaps was well aflame by the time they reached the garden, spreading stench and smoke in all directions. As the pile was doused and spread to ensure no further flares the point was raised that it wasnt unheard of for compost to spontaneously combust, but surely it hadnt been warm enough. Had it?

Something strange is afoot at Monaco, and right now it stinks.
