Description
Honey-brown hair that's long, and somewhat dry, often obscures Lyla's pretty face in a mess of unruly, beachy waves. Beneath it, her thick, well-groomed eyebrows arc atop middling brown eyes that are surrounded by a thicket of lashes made for fluttering. Her nose is impeccably straight, if ever-so-slightly prominent, and her lips are full. There's a little dimple in her chin, right at the round of her otherwise straight jawline. She's tall, and lanky, barely any curves to speak of, but carries herself with an athleticism that seems to suit her.
She's most often dressed simply, shift dresses and simple blouses paired with shorts to match the only pair of sandals she owns. Occasionally a few scavenged seashells are slung around her neck on a cord for embellishment, or a flower tucked behind her ear.
History
Lyla's past is fairly unremarkable as far as weyr life goes; borne of a mating flight at Monaco Bay Weyr, raised mostly in creche with the rest of the weyrbrats. She was a noisy, colicky baby, remembered none-too-fondly by the weyr's nannies in her early years, moving on to leave no better an impression as a youngster known for wandering off.
Though there was some aptitude for sewing, darning, and the likes, Lyla's never been much for ambition, and as she aged out of creche found herself relegated to the weyr's kitchens. It's not a job she enjoys, and she tends to spend a lot of time daydreaming, if she bothers to show up at all. You'd be correct in thinking this is becoming a bit of a problem.
