Description

Feminine? No. Jaireme could quite easily pass as a boy what with her narrow hips and small chest. Her hair is kept on the shorter side, more of a man's cut than a woman's, and always a mess, sometimes hanging down into her mossy green eyes, making it even easier to mistake her for a boy. Her sense of style fits her attitude and the tough look she goes for. Long legs add to her height, just a few inches short of six feet, while the long and very lean body of an athlete does nothing to help her look female. Generally, she appears is as if she just got out of bed. There is a confidence that seems to ooze from Jaireme that is somehow, in a way that likely can't be unearthed, intriguing. Possibly the way she moves without a care towards others, who knows..

History

Jaireme was born in a small cot hold near Telgar, beholden to a small hold. Her parents were proud to have two daughters, though admittedly there was a significant gap between the two, the family made their tithes with hard work and determination, working leather, raising herdbeasts for milk, meat and leather, and training runnerbeasts. In fact, Jaireme's parents, mostly her father, were quite well known for a time for both the quality of their leather working and the quality of their runners. Though fate can be cruel. Only a few turns after Jaireme's birth, her father contracted an illness after returning from another of the outlaying cot holds after doing some friendly trading. Sadly, it seemed nothing done could help and eventually the man died. Filled with grief Jaireme's mother along with her nine turn old daughter and even the four turn old Jaireme did what they could to keep their home, and make their tithe, though Jaireme's work was limited, obviously by her age and ability. It lasted for a while, but between having to rely more on trade for vegetables due to lack of time to grow them on their own, and simply the fact that while many people were willing to purchase runners and leather worked by Jaireme's father, they were less inclined to purchase the same from her mother who's name was much lesser known. As a result they were unable to make their full tithe, granted the lord of the small hold they were beholden to saw this as an opportunity to take the fine stock of runners the family had. The stress of the situation and perhaps simple brain chemestry drove Jaireme's mother to take to the land, packing up a pair of their best runners, with whatever they could carry before they could be 'reclaimed' and striking off with her two daughters.

Jaireme's childhood was not an easy one, The time wasn't easy for any of them. After almost a turn being holdless, there was an accident, A runner spooked and Jaireme's mother was thrown, breaking a leg, and suffering a head injury. The two young girls did what they could, but being far from any sort of actual civilization, there wasn't much they could do. IT didn't take long for infection to set in the the broken leg, but before that could kill Jaireme's mother the fractured skull and swelling in the brain did, leaving two young girls to fend for themselves, holdless.

The pair of them managed, hunting what they could and trading what they could when they managed upon a cothold that would take them in for a time. Jaireme became quite the hunter during this time, her favorite prey being one of the most common speices found in the wild. The tunnelsnake. It became one of their most common meals. By the time Jaireme was seven, they stumbled into a holdless camp. The pair gained entry to this camp mostly the same way they got shelter from various cot holds along their way. Jaireme's sister traded for it, she was the one that made the deals that the pair of them had to honor. But life with the camp was… different. They weren't alone any more at least. Jaireme learned what she could, and just before she turned nine, she waited until she had the perfect chance and took what money that she and her sister had, as well as the youngest and healthiest of their pair of runners.. and set out on her own. Some of those in the camp, didn't particularly take kindly to this however Jaireme was good at what she did, as one of the camps scouts.. She.. knew the land far better than many others.

After a month or two she stumbled into civilization, and managed to work her way in with a trading clan. Her seemingly natural born talent for working leather and working with runners, along with the fact that it'd simply been a fact of life on the road for her and her sister, were a definite boon to the clan. She was a hard worker and was quickly adopted into the clan. Eventually she worked her way up from trader in training, to a scout for the clan, checking the path for any dangers or obstacles the wagon train might encounter.. and after seven turns since she found her way to the clan she's trusted as a mounted courier, as well as taking turns with tanning and working with leather for trade and working with the clan's runners.
